Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Aimee collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information we need to provide the Aimee service:
- Account information: your email address and name, received from Google or Apple when you sign in with OAuth.
- Profile information: optional details you choose to share — age, occupation, interests, goals, and life context such as income or debt — used to personalize guidance. All profile fields are optional.
- Conversation messages: the messages you exchange with Aimee's experts, including any files or context you attach.
- Goal data: the goals you create, their progress, tasks, and milestones.
- Notification preferences: the channels and frequencies you opt into (push, email digest, daily briefing).
Guest accounts do not require an email. When you continue as a guest, your session is stored locally in your browser and no account record is created server-side.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide expert guidance through the Aimee service.
- To personalize responses based on your profile and goals.
- To send the notifications you've explicitly opted into (push, email digest, daily briefing, weekly summary).
- To improve the quality and reliability of the service.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database. API keys you provide (OpenAI, Anthropic, GLM, xAI, ElevenLabs, etc.) are encrypted at rest. Conversations are processed by your chosen LLM provider and never sold or shared with advertisers.
All traffic between your device and Aimee is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access to production data is logged and restricted to authorized personnel.
Third-Party Services
Aimee integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle your data:
- LLM providers — GLM (Zhipu AI), OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI — process conversation messages to generate responses.
- ElevenLabs — voice synthesis for spoken responses.
- Google and Apple — authentication via OAuth.
- Sentry — error monitoring. Sentry receives only error metadata, never your conversation content.
Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise these rights directly in the app: export your data from Settings → Data Privacy, or delete your account data from the same section. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
To make a request outside the app, or to ask about data we hold about you, contact us at privacy@aimee.app. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time from Settings → Data Privacy. After deletion, residual data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being purged.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (your session). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear session cookies at any time by signing out.
Children's Privacy
Aimee is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@aimee.app and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes — for example, by email or an in-app notice — before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
